West Dongting Lake Nature Reserve Takes Measures to Protect Migratory Birds
The West Dongting Lake National Nature Reserve is an important habitat on the migration route of waterfowls from East Asia to Australasia. It provides over 30 thousand migratory birds, including 14 global threatened species, with rest, habitat and rich food sources. At present, it is the season when migratory birds move south to West Dongting Lake for wintering. In order to ensure the migration and wintering safety of migratory birds, the reserve administration has actively organized and carried out a number of migratory bird protection work, providing a good habitat for migratory birds.
