The results of the preliminary accounting show that, in 2020, the GDP of Changde was 374.91 billion yuan with a year-on-year increase of 3.9%; the added value of the primary industry was 46.46 billion yuan, up by 4.1%, and the contribution rate to economic growth was 10.4%; the added value of the secondary industry was 154.37 billion yuan with an increase of 4.7%, and the contribution rate was 53.2%; the added value of the tertiary industry was 174.08 billion yuan, an increase of 3.1%, and the contribution rate to economic growth was 36.4%.

The ratio between primary industry, secondary industry and tertiary industry was adjusted to 12.4:41.2:46.4. The proportion of the primary and that of the secondary industry increased by 1.5% and 0.8% respectively, while that of the tertiary industry decreased by 2.3%.

The general public budget revenue was 28.68 billion yuan, up by 1.8% over the previous year. Local revenue was 18.79 billion yuan with an increase of 2.4%. Tax revenue reached 12.36 billion yuan, up by 2.4% and non-tax revenue was 6.42 billion yuan, up by 2.2%. The general public budget expenditure was 61.40 billion yuan with an increase of 0.9%, of which social security and employment expenditure was 8.57 billion yuan, down by 21.0%education expenditure 8.15 billion yuan with an increase of 6.6%, agriculture, forestry and water affairs expenditures 9.70 billion yuan with an increase of 6.5%, healthcare expenditure 6.13 billion yuan with an increase of 9.4%, urban and rural community affairs expenditure 5.62 billion yuan, up by 0.8%.

By the end of 2020, the mileage of highways opened to traffic was 23,000 kilometers, of which that of expressways was 430 kilometers. 54,000 new urban jobs were created and 39,000 labor workers were transferred from rural areas. 550 million yuan was provided for compulsory education security fund, among which 8.202 million yuan was granted for national stipends for secondary vocational education. 8204 secondary vocational students were subsidized.

In the city, the consumer price index of the residents was 102.2%, and the retail price index of commodities was 100.9%. By category, there were an increase of 1.8% in healthcare, 7.3% in food, tobacco and alcohol, 0.1% in clothing, 1.1% in education, culture and entertainment, 6.0% in other supplies and services; while the index of housing, transportation and communication, daily necessities and services dropped by 0.1%, 3.2% and 0.2% respectively.
