Zhen Dongguo
Zhen Donggu,a native of Shimen County, is a famous anti-Japanese general in modern China. In 1903, he was born in a farmer’s family of Shimen County. In 1924, he studied in Huangpu Military Academy. After graduation from Huangpu Military Academy, he plunged himself into anti-Japanese war and made great achievements. In 1943, he was appointed the arm commander of Chinese Expeditionary Army in India and won many victories. In 1948, he surrendered to the People’s Liberation Army and made great contribution to the liberation of China. In 1991, he died in Beijing at the age of 88.
