Liu Gengling, born in the Taoyuan County on January 29, 1929 and died on June 30, 2010, is an outstanding soil and plant nutritionist in China. In 1952, he graduated from Wuhan University. In 1959, he got doctor’s degree from the Soviet Union. He was once the vice president of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Science. He made great contribution to China’s agriculture by his research in soil and plant nutrition. In 1994, he was elected academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
