On November 29, the reporter learned from Hunan University of Arts and Science (HUAS) that Professor Gu Zhengqi, Secretary of the Party Committee of the University, won the platinum award at the 19th British Invention Show (BIS) for the project "a collaborative design optimization method for low resistance and low noise of automobiles".

The 19th British Invention Show was held at Barbican Exhibition Center in London at the end of October. After preliminary examination and reexamination, more than 10 universities, scientific research institutions, new technology enterprises and listed companies, such as Tsinghua University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Hunan University of Arts and Sciences, were selected to participate in the British evaluation of high-quality projects. One top award, one diamond award, three platinum awards, four double gold awards and twenty-six gold, silver and copper awards were awarded. The project of "a kind of collaborative design optimization method for low resistance and low noise of automobile" puts forward a collaborative optimization method for low resistance and low noise modeling of automobile body based on approximate model, which can effectively achieve the double objectives of reducing aerodynamic resistance and aerodynamic noise in the process of automobile driving. The optimization method is simple and reliable, and has a wide application prospect.

British Invention Show was founded in 2001. The jury of the show is composed of well-known experts in various fields of the British Invention Association. The evaluation of the project focuses on the contribution to human society and ecology, and requires the originality, uniqueness and practicability of technology. It is recognized as one of the most influential international invention shows in the world.
