Pilot City of National Smart Cities
Smart city is a kind of city that is running with the support of information technologies like cloud computing, Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, information mining, etc.. In January, 2013, Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development of the People's Republic of China announced the first batch of pilot cities of the national smart cities. Adding the cities from the second and the third batch, the number of pilot cities has reached to 290 as of now. On March 10th, 2016, altogether 19 regions in Hunan Province were listed as pilot cities, and 5 of them were from Changde, including the urban area of Changde, Li County, Hanshou County, Jinshi City, Zhangjiang Town of Taoyuan County.
In recent years, the construction work of Changde smart city was guided by the thought of constructing the cloud computing center as the first priority and gradually improving the information infrastructure, urban public administration, the application of people’s livelihood services, and modern industrial convergence. A system of “one center, one platform, six applications” was formed, i.e., Changde cloud computing center, the platform of information resources sharing, and the applications of geospatial framework, smart city management, intelligent transportation, numerical prevention and control, comprehensive tax management, and the gridding information platform for social management.
