The delegation first visited Longzi Middle School, which has a history of 60 years. As a boarding school, it has 1,456 students and shoulders the responsibility of the county’s elementary education. Changde Municipal Government invested large sums of money in the school, which has greatly improved its facilities. Cao pointed out that education is the foundation and the hope for the social and economic development of an area. Learning about the shortage of good teachers, Cao demanded good teachers be chosen from schools in Changde to support Longzi County.

Then, the delegation visited Longzi People’s Hospital, where an aid project is undertaken by Changde NO.1 Hospital. Cao talked with doctors and nurses from Changde, asking about their work and lives in Tibet. He pointed out that livelihood issues are the root and the foothold of the aid jobs, emphasizing that weak points such as medical treatment should be focused on so that people in Longzi county benefit from the medical aids in a direct, far-ranging and lasting way.

The delegation also visited Vegetable Basket Industrial Park, another Changde-aid project, and paid a tribute to He Wenying Memorial. He died of illness during his aid mission in Tibet.
