Big Events to Come in Changde in 2019

    1. Changde Yuanjiang River Tunnel is expected to open to traffic in the second half of 2019.

         Changde Yuanjiang Tunnel has a total length of 2.24 kilometers with a shield section of 1.68 kilometers. The tunnel consists of two lines: the east line and the west line. At the end of 2018, the construction of the west line began and is expected to open to traffic in the second half of 2019.

    2. Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway is expected to complete by the end of 2019.

         Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway has a total length of 336.257 kilometers. It starts from the Qianjiang District of Chongqing City, passing through Xianfeng County and Laifeng County of Hubei Province, Zhangjiajie City of Hunan Province, and terminating in Changde City of Hunan Province. It is a national first-class railway with a designed speed of 200 km/h. It is a section of Chongqing-Changsha-Xiamen Railway, one main channel of the “eight vertical and eight horizontal” high-speed railway network. The construction of Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway started in December 2014 and is expected to finish by the end of 2019. At present, the construction of Qianjiang-Zhangjiajie-Changde Railway is progressing smoothly. Most of the main housing constructions in Changde section have been capped, and the overhead contact net is under construction within a small scale.

    3. The Fourth Yuanjiang River Bridge is expected to complete in 2019.

         The Fourth Yuanjiang River Bridge with a length of 2180 meters connects the Xinnong Community of Doumuhu in Dingcheng District and the Sangchang Village of Danzhou Town in Wuling District. It is the most critical part for the re-routing project of G319 and G207 in Changde urban area and is also a landmark project in Changde’s history of transportation. The construction of the bridge officially started on February 1st, 2015. Once completed, the bridge will become a comprehensive transportation hub connecting the western new urban area in the north of Yuanjiang River and Doumuhu in the south of Yuanjiang River, greatly improving the social and  economic development and the people’s wellbeing of “two sides of the river”. The FourthYuanjiang River Bridge is the pioneer in Hunan Province since it adopts a cable-stayed design based on five low-rise towers. Its design concept and construction technology are in leading position in China. Up to now, the bridge construction has basically been completed. After the completion of Danxi Road, the bridge can open to traffic in 2019.

    4.Taoyuan section of the fourth avenue of Yuanli Express Line is expected to open to traffic in 2019.

         The Taoyuan section of the fourth avenue of the Yuanli Express Line starts from Taohuayuan Administrative Zone in the south and reaches the Zoushi Town in the north. The first phase of the project has a length of 28.17 kilometers. It is designed according to the national first-class highway standard with a road width of 32 meters and a designed speed of 80 km/h. The project covers an area of 1110000 m2 with a total investment of 1.089 billion yuan and a construction period of 3 years. The construction started on February 7th, 2017. Up to now, the land required for the project has been completely requisitioned, and the substructure and pipe culvert construction have been finished. It is planned to fully open to traffic in 2019.

    5. Visionland is expected to open in the first half of 2019

         Visionland Theme Park is located in Fantasy Peach Blossom Island of Liuye Lake Tourism Resort in Changde, covering an area of 428000 m2 with a building area of approximately 140000 m2. Its gross investment is about 1.7 billion yuan. Accommodation capacity is designed to be 2 million people per year. The park is expected to open in the first half of 2019.

    Visionland under construction

         Visionland is a high-tech and participation-oriented cultural theme park of new generation featured with amusement experience including virtual reality and studio interaction. There are 28 large-scale amusement facilities such as Sun Ride, 360° Universal Studio, Studio Turbo Drop and Time Ride. Thereinto, 360° Universal Studio is the third 360° viewing facility globally and the first one in Hunan Province with a diameter of 30 m.

    6. Sima Town with the Tang Dynasty Style is expected to open in April 2019.

         Sima Town With the Tang Dynasty Style is a large-scale tourism resort in Liuye Lake Administrative Zone and the sole cultural town with the Tang Dynasty style in Hunan Province. It stands overlooking the Liuye Lake to the south, the Dongting Lake to the west, and the Wuling Mountain to the east. It is a harmonious combination of city, lake and mountain. It has a total area of approximately 290667 m2 and a gross investment of 2 billion yuan. Once completed, the town will be the home to culture of Changde City and northwest of Hunan Province, an exhibition center of traditional culture, a cultural industry center, a regional business center, a core cultural tourism resort and a distributing center of tourists. It is planned to open in April 2019 with a daily accommodation capacity of 10000 people.

    7. Hanshou Wild Animal Park is expected to open on the National Day in 2019.

         With a gross investment of 1.5 billion yuan, Hanshou Wild Animal Park is expected to open on the National Day in 2019. There will be about 220 rare and endangered species worldwide, 10% of which come from home and 90% abroad, mainly from Asia, Africa and South America. First-class national protected animals account for 50% and 70% are included in the list of international threatened species. Besides, about 30 species are the first imported ones in China.
